Markham company donates Orthotic shoes to the Philippines

Samaritans all over the country are pitching in to help those who are not fortunate enough. In the Philippines, many are without adequate footwear but people behind big companies are hoping to change that.
'The Orthotic Group' of Markham, has agreed to donate approximately 800 pairs of tried on shoes for men and women that will be sent to Misamis Occidental in the Philippines for donation.
Dr. Jordie Isen is a Chiropractor whose company "CHIRO-PED Inc. specializes in the treatment of lower leg injuries. Most of the patients require Orthopedic Shoes and Custom Made Foot Orthotics and The Orthotic Group is his main provider for these devices.
A Pilipino employee of his father regularly sends charitable items to his town of Oroquieta in Misamis Occidental so Dr. Isen took the opportunity to talk to his supplier to ask for donations of sample shoes that they have received back as returns and organize them to be shipped to Misamis. He has set it up that he knows exactly where the shoes are going and who will adminster it at the final destination.
In a country where we normally find people walking barefoot in the streets, this is a very good gesture.
This is the second time for Dr. Isen to organize such a drive. Last year, they were able to send hundreds of shoes to Jamaica in conjunction with a non-profit charitable organization here in Toronto after the large Hurricane hit the island.
He hopes to organize similar events to both Egypt and Kenya as requested by some of his patients who have direct links to needy communities there.
The goal is simple, spread good will by putting a pair of shoes on the poor's shoeless feet.
